Falluja.
Our military will win the battle of Falluja ... but at what cost?
Are we destroying the city to save it?
And when we destroy the city and the insurgents are dispersed to the other cities of Iraq, will we have we won the war?
Hubris ... the Achilles Heel of the rich and powerful.
Hubris ... swagger ... is antithetical to the teachings of Jesus.
The transforming power of love is found in the strength of parents in their relationship to their children ... hence the concept of God (God is love!) as Father ... not in the strength of the schoolyard bully.
Fundamentalist Christians have rejected God's love as their strength in transforming the world ... for self-love.
